A fire broke out in the Russian city of Taganrog after an overnight drone attack, prompting evacuations from the emergency zone, while an OSINT analyst said the blaze appeared to have erupted at an oil depot, Astra reported on July 10.

Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova said the threat of additional drone strikes remains, prompting the evacuation of residents whose homes are located in the affected area.

Earlier, acting Rostov Oblast Governor Yury Slyusar said a fire had broken out at the Port of Taganrog following the drone attack.

Local residents posted videos on social media showing a large fire that erupted after the strike.

After analyzing the footage, an OSINT analyst with the ASTRA project concluded that the fire occurred at the Kurgannefteprodukt oil depot. Russian authorities, however, have officially reported only a fire "on the territory of the seaport."
