The company posted the statement on its official website on April 30 and called the report by Ukrainska Pravda a fabrication.
“We do not yet know why, or in whose interest, these dirty manipulations are being spread, but it is absolutely clear this is a targeted information attack and an attempt to destroy the reputation of one of the best and most effective weapons producers in Ukraine,” Shtilierman said in the statement.
“We do not rule out that competitors who want to cut off funding, halt contracts and close our enterprise are behind these actions.”
Fire Point also urged an end to what it called “information terror” against the company and the wider information sector.
In its appeal to NABU, the company asked the bureau to confirm whether materials from the Operation Midas corruption investigation contain evidence supporting the Ukrainska Pravda’s reporting. Fire Point also demanded that NABU publish all references to the company and its employees contained in the materials and summon Shtilierman for questioning.
On April 29, Ukrainska Pravda published new recordings it said were of Mindich in discussions with National Security and Defense Council secretary (and former Defense Minister) Rustem Umerov about financing Fire Point.
