The FP-7 is a conventionally designed ballistic missile
intended to strike enemy targets at medium ranges. By aerodynamic layout and
control principles, Fire Point said, the FP-7 is a “clone” of the Soviet 48N6
missile used in Russia’s S-400 air-defense systems, though it uses different
guidance and flight-control hardware.
Fire Point said the missile is made from composite
materials, which the company says reduce weight and increase range. Key
specifications provided by the company include:
- Range: up to 200 kilometers (about 124 miles)
- Ceiling: 65 kilometers (about 40 miles)
- Warhead: up to 150 kilograms (about 331 pounds)
- Circular error probable: 14 meters (about 46 feet)
- Top speed: Mach 4.4
- Maximum flight time: about 4.2 minutes.
The missile is boosted by a solid-fuel engine and is surface-launched, a configuration Fire Point says allows adaptation to different mission requirements. It uses an inertial navigation system, the company added.
Fire Point announced development of the FP-7 and a related
FP-9 in early September 2025 at a trade show in Poland. In November, the
company said it planned to complete ballistic missile testing in the first half
of 2026.
