Harris’s foreign policy to diverge from Biden’s, Ex-Ukraine FM predicts

He made this comment following Joe Biden's withdrawal from Presidential election race, and Kamala Harris, his Vice President being the most probable candidate to replace him.

"The foreign policy and security team is now in the campaign phase, but should Harris become President, her approach will be completely different from Joe Biden's," Klimkin said. 

"We'll have a different person, a different Democratic administration with different priorities. It doesn't mean the won't be any succession, but the priorities will shift." 

“The policy regarding Israel and the situation in Gaza will definitely change.”

“She will work with different people, her own team - as it will change completely."

Kamala Harris: Biden's likely successor

President Joe Biden announced on July 21, he would not be running for the presidential election scheduled for Nov. 5, 2024. He offered Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.

Harris expressed her readiness for the presidential race, saying it was a "great honor" to receive Biden's support. 

All 50 state Democratic Party chairs backed Kamala Harris as the party's new presidential candidate, CNN reported on July 22.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump remarked that he will find it easier to defeat Harris than Biden in the upcoming election.

Other Democratic Party figures, previously speculated as potential candidates following Biden's withdrawal, endorsed Harris's candidacy, reports indicated on July 22.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, and California Governor Gavin Newsom were among those endorsing Harris's candidacy.

Independent Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia, who was also considered a potential Democratic nominee, confirmed he would not participate in the party's nomination process.

This increases the possibility that Democratic delegates, who previously supported Biden, will now back Kamala Harris, solidifying her position as the party's official candidate for the United States Presidency, CNN reported.
