Fox News aired footage of a Ukrainian-made interceptor drone and presented it as part of “high-tech U.S. arsenal” used in the military operation against Iran, the Ukrainian manufacturer said on March 5.

Wild Hornets, a Kyiv-based company that produces the drones seen in the video, wrote in a Twitter post that the Fox News segment about U.S. drone capabilities included footage captured by its STING interceptor UAVs.

“We appreciate that international media such as FOX News highlight the effective work of interceptor drones,” the firm said.

“The footage shown in this segment features STING — a Ukrainian interceptor drone developed by engineers at Wild Hornets and used by Ukrainian air defense units to destroy Shahed-type drones.”

Wild Hornets added that Fox News left the company logo visible in the footage.

The segment featured a Fox journalist and an expert discussing a U.S. “drone war” with Iran and the use of artificial intelligence in American drones, praising U.S. UAV operators as “the best and most talented.”

Earlier on March 5, the Financial Times, citing sources in Ukraine’s defense industry, reported that the Pentagon and at least one Persian Gulf country are in talks to acquire Ukrainian interceptors to counter Shahed attacks. The FT said Gulf states, which currently rely on costly Patriot missiles for air defense, are running low on those interceptors and are seeking cheaper alternatives.

On March 4, CNN reported that senior U.S. officials told Congress that the U.S. military views Iran’s Shahed strike drones as a “challenge,” warning that current U.S. air defenses may not reliably intercept all of them.
