Freight train derails in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, authorities cite railway interference

He claimed the incident occurred due to “illegal
interference with railway operations,” without providing further details.
According to him, no one was injured, and passenger trains were rerouted.
Russia’s South-Eastern Railway clarified that 11 cars and a
locomotive had derailed, and restoration work on the tracks and overhead lines
is underway.
The state news agency TASS reported that Russia’s
Investigative Committee opened a terrorism case following the derailment.
On Sept. 10, Russia reported a large-scale drone attack on
several regions, temporarily halting operations at Moscow’s three main airports
— Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that air defense
allegedly shot down 15 drones heading toward the Russian capital. Damage to an
apartment building in Ramenskoye and a fire at Zhukovsky Airport were reported.
