Satellite images published online show a Russian FSB base on the Arabat Spit (between Crimea and Kherson Oblast) nearly destroyed after a Ukrainian drone strike, OSINT (open-source intelligence) project Dnipro OSINT reported on May 28.

The images show at least eight destroyed buildings at the site near Henichesk.

On May 17, Ukrainian drones carried out a mass strike on FSB facilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later confirmed the operation, saying it was carried out by fighters from the Security Service of Ukraine’s (SBU) Center for Special Operations A.

During the attack, a Russian Pantsir-S1 air-defense system was also damaged. Zelenskyy said the operation resulted in about 100 Russian personnel killed or wounded.

On the day of the strike, NASA’s FIRMS satellite service recorded strong thermal signatures in the area.
