The court has placed Colonel Dmytro Kozyura, the head of the Anti-Terrorist Center Headquarters of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), in pre-trial detention until April 11, without the right to bail, the public broadcaster Suspilne reported on Telegram on Feb. 13.

He is suspected of collaborating with Russia's FSB. Prosecutors allege that Kozyura passed state secrets and information on the consequences of missile strikes to the enemy.

Operation Rat to expose Kozyura was described as unprecedented in its scale. The SBU hacked into his phone and collected evidence of 14 cases of illegal activity. The head of the agency, Vasyl Malyuk, personally led both the investigative team that tracked the double agent and the operation to arrest him on Feb. 12.

The investigation revealed that Kozyura was recruited by the FSB in Vienna in 2018, and that contact with him was resumed in December 2024. He was placed under suspicion under the article of the Criminal Code on high treason.
