During a meeting of the Kharkiv region defense council, officials approved the mandatory evacuation of civilians from seven settlements in the Shevchenkivka community.
Syniehubov said plans include moving 181 children to safer areas. He added that all evacuees will receive temporary housing, assistance obtaining internally displaced persons status, access to social benefits, and humanitarian aid.
On May 24, Andriy Besedin, head of the Kupyansk City Administration, said that 90 percent of the city has been destroyed. He described the situation in the community as “not just difficult—but critical,” noting that Russians are attacking Kupiansk and the surrounding area with glide bombs munitions, artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and FPV drones operating over fiber-optic networks.
