Russian advance on southern front fails once again, says General Staff

Invading Russian forces were pushed
back from an attempted advance north from occupied Kherson Oblast to
Ukrainian-controlled Mykolaiv Oblast, the Pivdennyi Buh river axis, Ukraine’s
General Staff reported in an update on Facebook on Aug. 13.
"On the Pivdennyi Buh axis, the enemy fired tanks and artillery near Posad-Pokrovske, Stepova Dolyna, and 27 other settlements," the military said.
They note that the enemy tried to conduct an offensive operation in the direction of Sukhyi Stavok-Lozove, but was unsuccessful, and withdrew.
Russians also carried out airstrikes near Osokorivka and Andriyivka and continued aerial reconnaissance using UAVs.
According to the General Staff, two sea-based cruise missile carriers are ready for use in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
"The threat of missile strikes on military and critical infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine remains," the army command added.
