He said that an agreement on the matter was expected to be reached today.
“There was supposed to be a deal today, but Germany is still not ready to give the green light,” Jozwiak reports.
“Negotiations will continue next week.”
The EU's 13th sanctions package against Russia was adopted on Feb. 23, targeting 106 individuals and 88 entities.
On May 6, the European Commission sent EU countries the draft of the 14th sanctions package against Russia. The sanctions include, among other things, restrictions on liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports. Additionally, Brussels aims to sanction several vessels from the so-called “shadow fleet” of oil tankers, which transport Russian oil in defiance of the existing EU restrictions.
Earlier in June, Bloomberg, citing informed sources, reported that the G7 and EU countries are exploring ways to increase pressure on banks that help Russia circumvent Western sanctions.
