Earlier, Reuters, citing two government sources, reported that Berlin plans to allocate €8.5 billion ($9.9 billion) for Ukraine in its 2026 budget. An agency source said the additional funds are to cover costs for artillery, drones, armored vehicles, and replacement of two Patriot systems.
According to the Reuters source, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz supports the aid plans for Ukraine.
On Nov. 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Germany had delivered the promised Patriot air defense missile systems to Ukraine.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said winter 2025 could be a turning point in the war and noted that Germany promises Ukraine comprehensive support.
