It is also specified that the agreement includes training, logistical support and further joint development of UAVs.
It is noted that the STRILA interceptor drone is specifically designed to engage fast and maneuverable aerial targets.
The drones will be produced in Ukraine to “promptly meet the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the Security and Defense Forces.”
The STRILA drone is a Ukrainian anti-aircraft quadcopter UAV designed to intercept enemy drones in the air. Its key feature is its ability to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h, making it one of the fastest in its class. The drone is equipped with both daytime and thermal imaging cameras, with the ability to switch between them during flight, allowing it to operate effectively at any time of day, particularly at dusk. In addition, the WIY STRILA integrates with RADA radar systems and the SkyMap airspace management system, enabling the platform to autonomously acquire targets.
In February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the army would receive 10,000 drones in 2026 from the first German-Ukrainian joint venture based in Germany.
