Government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit confirmed that the state assistance will be maintained at current levels.
Additionally, German Employment Ministry spokesperson Dominik Ehrentraut stated that a special unit at the Employment Center, created to focus on Ukrainian refugees, will help accelerate the integration of Ukrainians into the German labor market.
Previously, Brandenburg Interior Minister Michael Stübgen criticized existing financial assistance to Ukrainian refugees, particularly to men and women "fit for military service."
Germany currently hosts to about 1.1 million refugees from Ukraine, including approximately 260,000 Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60.
According to German authorities, 185,000 Ukrainian citizens in the country are employed full-time, and another 47,000 are working part-time.
