Government to further revise power rationing to ease restrictions on households

“We are revising the list of critical infrastructure facilities,” Shmyhal said in a Telegram post.

“Hospitals, water utilities, and social services will remain an absolute priority and will be prioritized. Other institutions will gradually be switched to autonomous operation and provided with generators. This will allow us to free up more electricity for residential consumers.”

Repair work on power generation and distribution facilities is ongoing around the clock, he said.

“Tuesday and Wednesday [Feb. 10–11] will follow right [outage] schedules due to low temperatures, despite partial support from solar generation during the day.”

Shmyhal added that the government is also addressing fairness in electricity rationing.

“To ensure equal conditions for all consumers, the state will strengthen control,” he said.

“I have directed the State Energy Supervision Service to conduct corresponding inspections.”

On Feb. 8, Shmyhal said Kyiv would bring an additional 9 megawatts of generation capacity online.
