A grenade exploded in a high-rise apartment building in Zhytomyr, regional police said, with authorities investigating the circumstances of the blast on Apr. 6.
At about 10:00 a.m., police received a report of a loud explosion in a multi-story building on Ofitserska Street.
Preliminary information indicates that a combat grenade detonated in one of the apartments. No injuries were reported.

Police officers and explosives experts are currently working at the scene. Law enforcement is establishing all circumstances of the explosion, as well as the origin of the munition.
Preliminarily, a 43-year-old man lived in the apartment. Police are working to establish his whereabouts.
