Ukraine's heating season has started in all regions, including frontline areas, with 87% of social facilities and 73% of apartment buildings connected as of Nov. 11, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Kostiantyn Kovalchuk said at a Ukrinform briefing.
Boiler connections started in October, first to social infrastructure facilities.
As of Nov. 11, heating is provided to 87% of social institutions and over 53,000 apartment buildings, about 73% of the total.
Southern regions started the heating season a bit later, Kovalchuk added.
Even in frontline communities, heating supply was connected despite Russian airstrikes.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said heating in the capital's apartments was turned on Oct. 29.
Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Kostiantyn Kovalchuk reported on Oct. 28 that more than half of social infrastructure facilities in Ukraine were connected to heating, and eight oblasts had already begun supplying heating to residential buildings.
