German company Helsing provides Ukraine with 6,000 AI-driven drones

This marks the second batch of drones produced for Ukraine, following an initial delivery of 4,000 units. 

The drones feature advanced AI technology that provides full protection against electronic warfare measures. Additionally, Helsing's Altra software enables multiple drones to form a swarm controlled by a single operator, enhancing their effectiveness in reconnaissance and strike missions.

"We are scaling up production of HX-2 (drone model) in response to additional orders from Ukraine, where precision mass is offsetting a numerical disadvantage in legacy systems on a daily basis," said Helsing co-founder Gundbert Scherf.

“It is clear that NATO has important lessons to learn, and fast.”

With this production phase, Helsing is becoming one of the world's largest manufacturers of strike drones.

According to Defense Express, these drones can strike targets at distances of 40-60 kilometers. Known as mini-Taurus, they are not analogous to German long-range missiles but are considered loitering munitions capable of striking targets up to 60 km away, four times the range of Ukrainian FPV-drone-kamikaze, experts confirm.

Bild, citing German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, reported that Germany is supplying Ukraine with advanced AI-driven drones capable of striking high-priority Russian military targets, such as command posts or logistical objects. The first drones are expected to arrive in Ukraine within the next few weeks.
