NV met with the sociologist to discuss the company’s latest research on the mood in Ukrainian society after two years of war.
“Of course, there are new lines of differentiation, they are being formed, and it is extremely important to talk to people, to society about these issues,” Blyzniuk said.
“Of course, this includes different experiences of the war - someone participated in it, someone did not, was wounded or not wounded, someone’s house got destroyed or not, left the country or did not leave - there are many such situations.”
At the same time, she said, it is worth remembering two significant factors in this new segmentation of Ukrainian society. The sociologist called the first of them “different experiences, different feelings, different life paths,” and the second is “a manifestation of stress.”
Therefore, she urged “not to forget that due to high stress, internal tension in each of these groups, discussions of these issues become channels for the release of negative emotions.”
“We must remember that we are not only witnessing confrontations in terms of content, but often these are also emotional injections that help people relieve their stress,” she added.
“I rather would not hurry to call these new groups fractures in society, because it may happen that after a certain process of formation and discussion, they will be just new groups that will not conflict or create confrontation.”
