At least 28 of them have been confirmed killed.
The ministry stated that 119 citizens have been returned after securing an early release from the Russian army. Indian authorities are working to secure the early release and return of another 50 citizens.
Meanwhile, Russia claims that 26 Indians are dead and seven are missing.
The remains of ten Indian citizens who were killed on the frontlines have been returned, and two of the deceased have been cremated. To verify the identities of those killed or missing, India has provided Russia with DNA samples from the family members of 18 Indians.
The ministry stated that it continues to engage with Russian authorities to ensure the safety of its citizens and facilitate their release from military service and return home.
