Iran launched several missiles and a number of drones at the UAE on May 4, damaging the Fujairah oil industrial zone.

The Emirati Defense Ministry said air defenses intercepted three incoming missiles, with another one falling into the sea. Later, authorities in the city of Fujairah confirmed that an Iranian drone strike ignited a large fire in an oil-production area. Civil defense teams were working at the scene.

The defense ministry said the booms heard across parts of the country were caused by missile interceptions.

Earlier, the UAE issued a missile warning for the first time since the ceasefire took effect, urging people to seek shelter amid concerns of possible Iranian strikes. The warning came as U.S. President Donald Trump announced a push to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The UAE also said that Iran attacked a tanker belonging to Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., ADNOC, with attack drones in the Strait of Hormuz.
