Israel targets Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut with multiple airstrikes

Israeli military aircraft carried out ten sorties targeting the suburbs of Ghobeiry, Al-Kafaat, the Sayyed Hadi Highway, the vicinity of the Al-Mujtaba complex, and the old road to the airport.

The explosions reportedly occurred in the suburbs after the IDF ordered the evacuation of several buildings in the Hezbollah stronghold.

Lebanese media reported extensive destruction in the targeted areas, claiming that dozens of buildings were "leveled to the ground" and fires broke out.

Israel's operation in Lebanon

The IDF began striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon overnight on Sept. 29.

Hezbollah launched a series of rocket attacks on Oct. 7 on the Israeli cities of Haifa and Tiberias, injuring at least 10 people.

That same day, the IDF announced that Israeli fighter jets had struck Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut, as well as targets in southern Lebanon and near Beqaa, including weapons depots, infrastructure sites, and a launch pad.

The IDF reported striking approximately 200 Hezbollah targets deep inside Lebanon and in the south of the country on Oct. 13. Israeli officials stated that the strikes hit terrorist facilities, rocket launchers, command centers, and combat positions.

IDF representatives stated on Oct. 20 that Israeli forces had targeted southern Beirut, attacking a branch of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan bank, which is suspected of financing Hezbollah.

Israel announced the destruction of Hezbollah infrastructure in the village of Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon on Oct. 29. According to Israeli officials, the operation was conducted to thwart Hezbollah's attempts to carry out ground incursions into northern Israel (known as the "Galilee Conquest Plan").
