Participating in the opening ceremony were Polish Defense
Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, NATO Deputy Secretary-General Radmila
Šekerinska, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Adm. Pierre Vandier,
and Ukrainian Deputy PM Olha Stefanishyna.
JATEC achieved initial operational capability in January, with full operations planned for 2025.
“This center is the first initiative of its kind between NATO and Ukraine,” Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote in a Twitter post.
“To develop effective deterrent and defense capabilities, we need to collect and analyze the experience of the war in Ukraine. We will be doing this in Poland.”
The decision to establish JATEC was made in February 2024
following a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council.
