“In peacetime, Kostyantyn was a journalist and director. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he consciously took up arms to defend his homeland and remained in the ranks until the very end, demonstrating courage, responsibility, and loyalty to Ukraine,” the faculty said, expressing condolences to his family and all who knew him.
Kostyantyn joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the summer of 2022 and commanded the UAV unit of the Hell Hornets, part of the Hetman Ivan Mazepa’s 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade. His comrades called him “Director.” Beyond combat missions, he helped train new recruits and supported fellow defenders.
“Big, strong, talented, calm, kind, professional, effective. This is a huge loss for his family, everyone who knew him, and for all of Ukraine and the world,” said journalist Lidiya Pashchuk.
Kyiv Post special correspondent Serhiy Kostezh recalled, “I had been working with him since 2013. It was never boring with Kostya. Even when he corrected mistakes, he did it with humor. He was big and kind — that’s who he was.”
Natalia Dniprenko, his former teacher, said, “Honest, decent, talented. We had plans for joint projects in peacetime… He lived with dignity and died with dignity. Thank you, Kostya, for being with us, and thanks to his parents for raising such a son.”
