Trilateral talks in the UAE
On Dec. 23 and 24, trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia on ending the war were held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the talks were constructive, with discussions focused primarily on possible parameters for ending the war.
U.S. officials believe the trilateral talks “exceeded expectations,” saying the atmosphere in the room was “very optimistic, positive and constructive.” According to media reports, no decisions on territorial issues have yet been made, but some progress was achieved in discussions of military-related issues.
On Jan. 26, Zelenskyy said a new trilateral meeting would take place on Feb. 1.
