Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba condemned the Russian strikes on Lviv and Kryvyi Rih, noting they targeted civilians in their homes and damaged UNESCO-protected buildings.

Kuleba urged global leaders, international organizations, and others to strongly condemn Russia’s war crimes against civilians.

"We need your statements and actions now," he said.

He also called on Ukraine's partners to deliver promised air defense systems and ammunition immediately, enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities, and support long-range strikes against legitimate Russian military targets.

"Simply launching deadly metal into the air is not true participation in war. Saving lives shouldn't be seen as escalation. The decision to allow neighboring countries to use air defense systems must be made. Russia only understands the language of power. We must all act decisively, show leadership, and be brave to end Russia's war and terror," he added.

Russian massive shelling on Sept. 4

On the night of Sept. 4, Russia launched a massive bombardment of Ukraine, targeting 42 sites with Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal missiles, Kh-22, Kh-101, Iskander-K missiles, and 29 UAVs.

Air defenses intercepted seven rockets and 22 Shahed drones. Explosions were reported in Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv, Lviv, and other cities.

In Lviv, among the seven killed was a mother with three children. The city saw damage to about 50 buildings in the historic center, including medical facilities and schools.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported power outages in Lviv Oblast and train delays.

In Kryvyi Rih, five people were injured, including a 10-year-old child. A hotel was destroyed, 32 high-rise buildings and several other civilian structures were damaged, according to the city's governor Oleksandr Vilkul.
