The ministry criticized the missile test, saying it "undermines peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the world at large.”
Pyongyang, "which not only supplies the aggressor state Russia with artillery ammunition and ballistic missiles but also sends its military units to participate in the war against Ukraine, continues to deliberately destabilize the situation," the statement said, also noting the advancement of North Korea's missile program.
The ministry called for immediate and decisive action by international partners to counter the regimes of both countries, and stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen Ukraine's capabilities as part of President Zelenskyi's Victory Plan.
The Oct. 31 ICBM test reached a record altitude of 7,000 km with a flight time of 86 minutes, indicating a range of more than 17,000 km, allowing the weapon to potentially reach anywhere in the United States and Europe.
That same day, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Serhiy Kyslytsya called the participation of North Korean soldiers in Russia's war against Ukraine the most dangerous development in recent times in terms of global consequences, warning of a possible spread of the war from Europe to Asia.
