Russian drone attack on Kyiv: Six injured, fire and damage in residential areas

Six people were injured in a Russian Shahed drone attack on the Ukrainian capital, which lasted more than 4 hours, Kyiv Governor Serhiy Popko reported on Telegram early Oct. 29, posting photos of the aftermath.

One person was hospitalized with a serious leg injury.

In the Solomyanskyi district, a gas pipe in a nine-story apartment building was depressurized by falling debris from the intercepted drone, causing a fire in a nearby shop and damaging three parked cars. 

In the Svyatoshynsky district, debris shattered windows in a three-story administrative building.

All enemy drones flying towards Kyiv in several waves were neutralized on approach or over the city.

Earlier, on Oct 28, Russian glide bombs severely damaged the UNESCO World Heritage Derzhprom building on Freedom Square in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. Built in the 1920s, it is considered the most famous example of the Soviet Constructivist style.
