The officers had spotted a video circulating on social media
that showed two men firing a pistol from a moving vehicle. No one was injured,
according to the statement.
Within an hour of launching a special operation, officers
identified and detained both the driver and passenger of an Audi. The suspects
were found relaxing at a nearby restaurant, not far from the scene of the
shooting.
Investigators seized a pistol and took both men into
custody. The suspects were identified as two Kyiv residents, aged 22 and 33.
They were brought to the Darnytskyi police department for questioning.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 296
of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which covers hooliganism involving the use of a
weapon. The offense carries a sentence of up to seven years in prison.
