A fire broke out on the
territory of the Angarsk Petrochemical Company in Irkutsk Oblast on an area of
200 square meters, the Kremlin-controlled news agency RIA Novosti reported on
Telegram on Nov. 27.
The fire was reported at 9 a.m. local time, and it was extinguished by 1.17 p.m.
One hundred firefighters and 25 fire engines attended the scene of the blaze.
No injuries were reported as a result if the fire.
The cause of the fire was not given, and the authorities have created a special commission that will study why the plant caught fire.
Angarsk Petrochemical Company (part of Rosneft) is the largest enterprise in Eastern Siberia for the production of petroleum products and petrochemicals.
Its design capacity is 10.2 million tons of oil per year.
