According to the message, the shipment will arrive in Ukraine later this week. Besides the APCs, Ukraine will also receive all-terrain vehicles and spare parts for vehicle maintenance.
This support will bolster the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in demining operations and aid in achieving the goals of the Demining Coalition led by Lithuania and Iceland, the ministry added.
The ministry noted that in 2024, Lithuania provided Ukraine with 155mm artillery ammunition, M577 and M113 APCs, anti-drone systems, winter gear, Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle rounds, RISE-1 remote detonation systems, and other equipment.
Since February 2022, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military aid worth over EUR 679 million ($752 million).
On Sept. 12, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said his country is considering the procurement of short-range air defense missile systems for Ukraine, with a decision expected within two to three weeks.
