Security was tightened around administrative buildings in Lviv over a potential Russian sabotage threat, police said on April 2.

Amid the threat of sabotage by Russian special services, police in Ukraine’s Lviv Oblast have tightened security around administrative buildings, which are priority targets, authorities said.

Officers are inspecting suspicious individuals and vehicles for explosives and other threats while also stepping up public safety measures.

Earlier, the SBU reported the arrest of two Kyiv residents in Lviv who were allegedly planning to bomb the regional police department on orders from Russian intelligence.

One suspect, a 22-year-old Kyiv resident, was reportedly recruited online while searching for work.

She traveled to Lviv to prepare the attack and enlisted an acquaintance to assist, officials said.
