Maersk halts service through Chornomorsk as Russian attacks on shipping continue

In a statement, the company said the current situation affecting its operations means it can no longer provide service through the Chornomorsk port.
"Therefore,
Maersk said a ship scheduled to unload at Chornomorsk will be diverted to the Romanian port of Constanta. Other import cargoes bound for Chornomorsk will also be redirected to Romania.
Maersk is the second major company to suspend operations in Chornomorsk this month. Kernel Holding, Ukraine’s largest grain exporter, last week also stopped operations at the port after a series of Russian strikes.
Russia has repeatedly attacked Ukraine’s maritime export
routes since its full-scale invasion, but in recent weeks strikes on cargo
ships and deep-water ports that handle much of Ukraine’s grain exports have
intensified.
