Maersk, one of the world's largest container shipping companies, has launched a temporary rail service between Constanța, Romania, and terminals in Ukraine for both import and export cargo, the company said on Telegram.
Maersk said the service was introduced in response to the current situation at ports in Odesa Oblast.
The new service will connect terminals in Kyiv, Odesa and Ternopil. It will remain in operation through Oct. 1, 2026.
The company also published transportation rates, noting that T1 customs transit documentation is included in the price.
"Please note that this is a temporary service and will remain in place until the situation in Oblast stabilizes," the logistics operator said.
As previously reported, on July 21, Maersk announced it was suspending operations through Chornomorsk Fishing Port following intensified Russian attacks on Ukraine's Black Sea export routes. The company said vessels scheduled to unload at the port would instead be redirected to the Romanian port of Constanța. All other cargo previously bound for Chornomorsk would likewise be rerouted to Romania.
