Dnipro officer stabbed in altercation over ID check refusal

A dispute in Dnipro involving Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) and SP representatives and a 45-year-old man who refused to show personal documents for verification was reported by police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on Jan. 7.

Police reported that a 45-year-old man stabbed an officer during a dispute over refusing to show identification to Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) representatives in Dnipro on Jan. 7.

The incident occurred at a train station when the man drew a knife from his pocket and wounded an officer from Dnipro District Police Department No. 1.

The injured officer was hospitalized and received medical care. Police later seized the weapon.

Authorities are considering charges under Article 345 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code for threats or violence against law enforcement. The man also filed a complaint, alleging bodily harm by a TCC employee, with the case recorded under Article 125 for minor injuries.
