Authorities order mandatory evacuation of 16 frontline settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

“Families with children have one month to evacuate, meaning parents and legal guardians must relocate 2,177 children to safer areas,” Hanzha emphasized.

Hanzha noted that the National Police and volunteers are assisting the families with the relocation.

“Evacuation routes are selected based on the security situation. Armored vehicles and bulletproof vests will be provided,” the governor added.

Hanzha clarified that residents will first be taken to transit centers, where they will receive housing assistance if necessary.

Hanzha previously announced on August 4 that the forced evacuation of children was ongoing across 10 villages in the Bohynivka community of the Synelnykove district.

According to Hanzha, a third of the targeted population has already left, though some families still hesitate to relocate. Local officials and charitable organizations continue to work with them to encourage them to evacuate.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on August 12 that Ukrainian forces liberated 745 square kilometers of territory between January 29 and August 2026, returning 26 villages across the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts to Ukrainian control.

Suspilne reported on August 17, citing a source within the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, that military operations to liberate settlements from Russian occupation are ongoing in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with the village of Dachne currently remaining under Russian control.
