Drone strikes triggered a wave of explosions across Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan on the morning of August 10, independent outlet Astra reported.

Drones were reported over Nizhnekamsk and Chistopol, prompting the Russian republic to declare a drone alert and restrict operations at two local airports.

Local monitoring channel Exilenova+ reported the attack likely targeted an oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, where smoke was seen rising over the city.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin also announced an overnight drone attack, claiming Russian air defenses shot down 13 drones flying toward the capital and noting that emergency crews were working at the debris site.

The region was previously targeted on Aug. 5, when a drone strike hit a major logistics hub in Tatarstan’s Zelenodolsk district, home to massive e-commerce distribution centers for Ozon and Wildberries. Reports also surfaced of a simultaneous strike in Kazan.
