According to emergency services, a fire covering 200 square meters (2,150 square feet) broke out at a garage complex in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district and has since been extinguished.
While responding to the fire, rescuers found the bodies of two people and rescued two others.
In the Podilskyi district, two nonresidential buildings caught fire as a result of the attack.
Emergency services are working at the affected sites.
Russia launched a large-scale combined attack on several oblasts of Ukraine overnight. Powerful explosions were reported in Kyiv and surrounding Oblast, as well as in Dnipro, Kremenchuk and Zaporizhzhia.
In Kyiv, Kyiv City Express commuter rail service was temporarily suspended on the morning of Oct. 7 because of the aftermath of the overnight attack, and passengers were warned of possible delays. Service resumed at about 7:20 a.m. after the air raid alert was lifted, although trains needed time to return to their regular schedules.
Trams No. 11, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 19 were also delayed near Kontraktova Square because of a loss of power to the overhead lines. The Kyiv funicular was temporarily suspended because of power outages.
