Medical workers’ pay to increase in frontline areas—PM Svyrydenko

The Cabinet has approved a pay raise for doctors and nurses
in frontline-adjacent areas across Ukraine, PM Yulia Svyrydenko announced on
Sept. 25.
“We are increasing salaries for medics in areas of active or potential combat operations; in particular, this includes Nikopol [Dnipropetrovsk Oblast], which is under constant Russian shelling,” Svyrydenko wrote in a Telegram post.
Doctors in active combat zones will earn UAH40,000 ($963) a month, middle medical staff UAH27,000 ($650), and junior staff UAH18,000 ($433). In areas under threat of combat operations, salaries will be UAH28,000, UAH18,000, and UAH9,000 respectively.
“It’s important to support doctors who continue to work under extremely difficult conditions and save lives every day,” the PM added.
