European leaders deliver Independence Day wishes to Ukraine in Ukrainian – video

In his video message in Ukrainian, Nausėda praised Ukraine’s courage and determination in halting “the cruel Moscow horde.”

“Dear President Zelenskyy, dear people of Ukraine, I congratulate you on Independence Day,” he said.

“For four years, you have fought to live in your free homeland. Every day you show the world an unprecedented example of courage and resolve. Lithuania will always stand by you and help with all possible means: military, political, financial.”

He reaffirmed Lithuania’s support for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, ending with “Don’t give up! Glory to Ukraine!”

Chancellor Merz, in a post, expressed respect for Ukrainians’ bravery defending against Russian attacks.

“They fight for our system based on freedom in Europe and for a just peace. On Independence Day, we firmly stand by their side — today and in the future,” he said.

Other world leaders who sent congratulations included U.S. President Donald Trump, King Philip I of Belgium, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, King Charles III of the U.K., Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter, and Pope Leo XIV.

President Zelenskyy shared these greetings on X, thanking the leaders for their support.
