Ukrainian divers and explosive ordnance disposal specialists recovered debris of a Russian missile from a river in Kyiv, days after an attack on the capital, the State Emergency Service said releasing photos on March 19.

“Metal debris hidden beneath the water is a trap for anyone who, despite warnings, takes the risk of diving into a body of water,” the State Emergency Service said.

Rescuers reminded that if you notice explosive or suspicious objects, you must not approach or touch them and should immediately report them by calling 101 or 112.

On March 16, Russia attacked Kyiv and the surrounding region with drones and several missiles, which were likely intercepted before reaching the capital. A series of explosions was heard in Kyiv as air defenses were operating, and debris fell in several districts, including the city center near the Independence Monument on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

The Defense Express portal reported that the enemy drone that fell near the Independence Monument during the morning attack on Kyiv was a Lancet drone equipped with artificial intelligence.
