Counter-sabotage and security measures are being intensified in Kyiv Oblast from Dec. 28 to Jan. 6, with more checkpoints being deployed during this period, Kyiv Regional Governor Ruslan Kravchenko reported on Telegram on Dec. 28.

The measures are being carried out with the participation of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), the National Police, the National Guard, and the 114th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.

Public places such as shopping malls, supermarkets, train stations, and hospitals will be checked, and vehicles may be stopped at checkpoints. Local authorities are reminding residents to carry their identification with them at all times.

"The purpose [of the intensified checks] is to intensify search activities, as more than 11,000 people are wanted for criminal and administrative offenses, according to the police," Kravchenko said.

Residents are being urged to approach these measures with understanding, to cooperate with law enforcement, and to report any suspicious activity, especially regarding the filming of defense or critical infrastructure.
