The battle for Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, continues, with Ukraine attempting to search-and-strike Russian infantry and equipment that made their way into the town, Ukraine’s 7th Rapid Response Corps said in a statement on Nov. 12.

According to the message published via Telegram, a major enemy assault on Pokrovsk, which occurred along the Selidove-Pokrovsk highway, had “partial success.” Some Russian vehicles were destroyed during the approach, but the rest will have to be found and neutralized within Pokrovsk, the Corps said.

The report also touched on the situation in nearby Myrnohrad: enemy forces continue to apply pressure on Ukrainian defenses but have been unable to enter the city. Ukrainian commanders are convinced the Russians plan to attack Myrnohrad from Hrodivka with armored vehicles in near future.

A brigade from the 7th Rapid Response Corps is currently fending off small enemy groups of two to four individuals who are attempting to infiltrate the southeastern outskirts of the city.

“The enemy uses Mavic drones for navigation and light vehicles, particularly motorcycles, for logistics," the report stated.

Another unit is working in coordination with adjacent forces to contain the occupiers in Lyman, which Russians view as a base for launching an attack on Myrnohrad from the north.

Previously, Ukrainska Pravda, citing military sources deployed near Pokrovsk and footage from open sources, reported that Russians have been bringing equipment into Pokrovsk since Nov. 6 and deploying mortars there.
