Explosions shook the Russian capital and its suburbs throughout the night, local Telegram channels reported early on Dec. 15, posting photos and videos from residents.
The first explosions and air defense operation were reported by residents of Moscow's Kashira suburb late on Dec. 14.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that Russian air defenses shot down 15 drones approaching the city.
“Emergency services specialists are working at the crash site,” he wrote on Telegram.
The Russian Federal Aviation Authority, Rosaviatsia, imposed temporary flight restrictions at Moscow’s Domodedovo and Zhukovsky international airports.
