Five people, including five rescuers, were injured in a massive Russian drone barrage of the city of Nizhyn and its suburbs in Ukraine’s northern Chernihiv Oblast late on Sep. 14, regional Governor Vyacheslav Chaus reported on Telegram the following morning, posting photos of the aftermath.
The attack was focused on the city’s critical infrastructure.
Firefighters extinguishing the fire were targeted by repeated drone strikes. Four of them were hospitalized with injuries.
A 59-year-old resident of one of a village in the suburbs of Nizhyn was also wounded, and a residential building was damaged.

Over the past day, the enemy forces carried out 42 strikes on 20 settlements of the oblast.
That same evening, twelve people were injured in a series of two Russian missile strikes on a farm in the village of Boromlya in Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast.
