Bezuhla aired her grievances in a Facebook post on July 2.
“Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, you once again traveled [to the eastern front] and distracted people, exerting ‘manual’ control,” she wrote.
“You hide from responsibilities and key meetings here in Kyiv. Your predecessor [Valerii Zaluzhnyi] barely traveled, but you do the opposite, yet the results are no better. Neither he nor you have changed anything in the system.”
Bezuhla went on to suggest that Syrskyi failed to protect Ukrainian aviation assets from Russian missile strikes. She mentioned a recent Russian strike on an airfield near Myrhorod, Poltava Oblast, reports about which was spread by Russian propaganda.
“You have not fixed the situation with the safety of our aircraft, with air defense,” the MP said.
“We are still losing them just like that, unprotected, left to the mercy of Russian drones and missiles, as in Myrhorod, without basic shelters and surveillance. What F-16s are we talking about here? F-16s will change nothing; at best, they will boost air defense and become a priority target for the Russians.”
