Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed his longtime ally in late November 2025 after Yermak’s residence was searched by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) as part of its Operation Midas corruption probe.
“I would like, to begin with, some clarity about his procedural status in this whole story, since he [Yermak] still hasn’t even testified as a witness,” Nesvytailov said.
“They conducted searches at his place, searches of his driver, and searches of several connected people, and Yermak still has no defined procedural status. There’s no charge sheet, nothing at all.”
Nesvytailov added that the media attention surrounding the searches ended up being “very bad for NABU.
“They were given a very large vote of confidence; the public strongly supported them,” the expert said.
“The fact that this now plays out in the legal sphere in an
uncertain and unclear way is not good.”
