"Those messages periodically pop up in the U.S. media about possible changes in presence, cancellations, and so on," she told reporters.

“However, in reality, there are really no changes in the system internally, all work is going on very orderly: preparation, exercises, planning of certain resources, cooperation. In fact, everything is going on as it was before, there is no change.”

"There are definitely no signals," Šakalienė added. However, the official believes that changes related to the presence of U.S. troops in Europe are inevitable.

"Overall, there is no doubt that there will be a review of the deployment of capabilities in Europe, I think it will definitely happen," she said.

“What it will look like - where and what forces could be replaced - is pure speculation for now.”

The comments follow media reports that Pentagon officials are mulling a withdrawal of up to 10,000 troops from Eastern Europe, a move some fear could embolden Russia’s Vladimir Putin. 

Meanwhile, U.S. Army Europe announced a pre-planned redeployment of personnel and equipment from Poland’s Jasionka Airport near Rzeszów to other Polish sites. 

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz reassured that Norwegian, German, British, and Polish allies continue operating from this key logistics hub supporting Ukraine.
