Ukraine-U.S.-Russia talks
On Jan. 23 and 24, trilateral talks took place in Abu Dhabi between Ukraine, the United States and Russia on ending the war. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the talks were constructive, with the main focus on possible parameters for ending the war.
American officials believe the trilateral talks “exceeded expectations,” with the atmosphere in the room “very optimistic, positive and constructive.” According to media reports, no decisions have been reached on territories yet, but some progress was made in discussions on the military block of issues.
U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff said the talks would continue next week. According to Axios, the next meeting could take place on Feb. 1.
