"The enemy has developed a new effective nighttime combat tactic," said Bunyatov.
“In groups of 2-3, they cross fields to our rear and establish a circular defense, despite losing 80% of their personnel, 20% still manage to reach their destination.”
Then, in the morning, the accumulated assault group of the enemy begins attacking Ukrainian positions from the rear, drawing attention to themselves.
"During this time, using the same scheme, groups of 5-6 people are brought in to form a strike group the size of a company," the soldier said.
The situation on the front in Donetsk Oblast is the main focus. On Sept. 8, Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko reported on Radio NV that the Russian army aims to encircle the Ukrainian Armed Forces grouping near the settlement of Nevelske, located in the south of the Pokrovsk district.
Ukrainian military personnel raised the blue and yellow flag on the elevator in the center of the village of New York in Donetsk Oblast on Sept. 7, according to the footage published by the DeepState monitoring group.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated on Sept. 5 that Ukrainian forces had managed to stop the advance of Russian troops in the Pokrovsk sector. Over the past six days, the enemy had not advanced a single meter there.
The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War reported on Sept. 4 that the enemy had likely captured the village of Halytsynivka and the town of Novohrodivka. Prior to this, the 59th Brigade confirmed its withdrawal from Novohrodivka.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the decision to strengthen troops in the Pokrovsk sector on Aug. 26.
